"NeoVistas" is a 3D design project where I developed four surreal landscapes, each centered around a vibrant sculpture or piece. By challenging visual perception, I intended to make viewers momentarily consider the reality of these bizarre structures within seemingly real landscapes.
This project served as my final piece for the 3D Modelling and Design class at CENTRO. Despite the nerve-racking challenge of a three-week deadline and the task of familiarizing myself with new software, I embraced the opportunity to dive into the world of 3D design.
Influences from 3D artists such as Peter Tarka and Khyati Trehan are evident in the project. The fusion of their vibrant color palettes and the organized chaos of their abstract compositions guided my vision, adding a sense of wonder and mystery to my surreal landscapes.
To successfully deliver the project, I immersed myself in learning about Cinema 4D and Octane Render, honing my abilities in these software suites. Further, I engaged in a comprehensive study of Tarka's and Trehan's work, understanding their approach towards color and form.
The development process was a hands-on exploration of Cinema 4D and Octane Render, where I pushed my boundaries to create complex surreal landscapes. Collaborating with peers and instructors for feedback, I was able to refine and iterate on my designs, eventually bringing my vision to life.
The final presentation consisted of four distinct landscapes, each carrying its unique surreal charm. Looking back, there are minor details I'd adjust, but overall, I'm proud of what I accomplished in such a short time and with a steep learning curve. "NeoVistas" was more than a class project; it was a gateway into the world of 3D design, which I have since continued to explore with enthusiasm. My journey in 3D design has only begun, and I am excited about future opportunities to broaden my skills and knowledge in the field, enriching my portfolio with diverse 3D works.
